Talega News

Talega News was created to provide current and prospective residents of Talega, located in northeastern San Clemente, California, a forum to discuss issues of interest and/or import in our community. It is also a good place to vent.

Talega Residents and the La Pata Extension

As most of you know, the EIR for the La Pata extension is currently underway. As you may not know, those who live in the northeastern portion of Talega have great concerns over how it is been conducted.

The EIR contains two proposed alignments - the "Project" alignment (running close to Talega) and the "Alternative" alignment (running closer to Forster Ranch). Those who live in the Talega communities of Escala, Sansol and Mirador are concerned that the location of the Project alignment -- which is currently the preferred alignment -- is mere feet from their homes.

If you are concerned, or just want more information, please check out this website. The website is still under construction, but should include information, including how you can get involved, soon.

This link shows a group that is pretending to speak for all of us, but they don't. I personally use the trail system quite a bit and their proposal would wipe out the ridgeline trail and destroy the valuable open space that make Talega great. It's more of a special interests group than anything. Push La Pata through!! Keep the trails, too!! Get educated about this topic and you'll see that talegaroadways is "all for one" and "one for all". That means sacrificing "all" of the openspace "for one" or two home owners benefits.
